L’Wren Scott starb durch Erhängen. Damit bestätigte der gerichtsmedizinische Befund die Berichte über den Selbstmord der Designerin durch Selbststrangulation. L’Wren Scott wurde am Montagmorgen in ihrer New Yorker Wohnung tot aufgefunden.
Nach Mick Jagger haben nun auch die anderen Mitglieder der Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts und Ronnie Wood, auf Facebook Statements zum Tod von L’Wren Scott veröffentlicht. Dabei gehen die Stones auch auf die Absage ihrer Australien-/Neuseeland-Tournee ein.
Richards schreibt, er empfinde tiefes Mitgefühl für Mick Jagger.
Watts fügt an, dass er „vollkommen schockiert“ sei.

“No-one saw this coming…Mick’s always been my soul brother and we love him…we’re thick as thieves and we’re all feeling for the man…we really hate to disappoint our fans but we’ll see everyone really soon.”
Charlie Watts:
„Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible.”
Ronnie Wood:
„This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time. Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can.“
Die Stones in Deutschland:
Die Konzerte der Rolling Stones in Deutschland finden wie geplant statt. Das gab DEAG-Chef Peter Schwenkow, Veranstalter der beiden Auftritte in der Berliner Waldbühne (10. Juni 2014) sowie in der Esprit-Arena in Düsseldorf (19. Juni 2014), bekannt.
„Das tragische Ereignis hat uns sehr betroffen gemacht. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist die Absage des Konzertes in Australien mehr als nachvollziehbar“, heißt es in Schwenkows Statement. „Nach aktueller Rücksprache mit dem Agenten der Rolling Stones sind die für den Juni geplanten Konzerte der ’14 ON FIRE‘-Tour in Deutschland von diesem Unglücksfall nicht betroffen. Der Vorverkauf wird – wie auch auf der Homepage der Rolling Stones angekündigt – in dieser Woche beginnen.“

Die Rolling Stones sagen ihre Tournee durch Australien und Neuseeland ab. Betroffen sind sieben Termine. Grund für die Absage ist der Selbstmord von Mick Jaggers Freundin L’Wren Scott. Die Designerin begang am Montag in ihrer New Yorker Wohnung Selbstmord mit ihrem Schal. Scott wurde 49 Jahre alt. Sie und Jagger waren seit 2001 ein Paar.
„Wir sind sehr traurig und enttäuscht die restliche Tour durch Australien und Neuseeland absagen zu müssen“, heißt es in einem Facebook-Statement der Stones.

The Rolling Stones are planning to reschedule these postponed shows at a later date.

Am Dienstag hatte Mick Jagger ein erstes Statement zum Tode Scotts veröffentlicht. „Ich werde sie niemals vergessen“, schrieb der 70-Jährige auf Facebook.
„I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.

Zum Tod von L’Wren Scott:
Wie am 17. März 2014 berichtet wurde, wurde L’Wren Scott – Designerin und langjährige Freundin von The-Rolling-Stones-Sänger Mick jagger – tot in ihrer Wohnung aufgefunden. Nun steht auch die Todesursache fest: Scott erhängte sich mit einem Schal. Die „Daily Mail“ berichtet, die Modemacherin habe Schulden im Wert von 7 Millionen US-Dollar angehäuft. Ihren Lebensgefährten Jagger um Geld zu fragen, sei ihr zu peinlich gewesen.
Mick Jagger wurde von den Neuigkeiten in Australien informiert. In einem Statement gab Jaggers Pressesprecher bekannt: [Mick] ist völlig geschockt und am Boden zerstört“.
L’Wren Scott wurde am Montagmorgen tot in ihrer Wohnung aufgefunden.
Die Rolling-Stones-Show in Perth, Australien wurde abgesagt. Ob die anderen Konzerte der Tour wie geplant stattfinden werden, ist nicht bekannt. Im Rahmen ihrer „14 On Fire„-Tournee kommen die Rolling Stones für zwei Konzerte im Sommer nach Deutschland. Am 10. Juni 2014 gastieren Jagger, Richards und Co in der Berliner Waldbühne – am 19. Juni 2014 spielen die Stones in der Esprit-Arena in Düsseldorf.
